Educational Requirements for CTET 2024
To be eligible for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) in 2024, candidates must meet specific educational criteria. The qualifications vary for the primary and secondary levels, and the specific educational requirements for each level are outlined below:
Primary Level (Class I to V)
To participate in the primary level CTET examination, candidates must meet one of the following qualifications:
1. Senior Secondary or its equivalent with a minimum of 45% marks and have passed or are in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education, as per the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations, 2002.
2. Senior Secondary or its equivalent with at least 50% marks and have passed or are in the final year of a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (D.EI.Ed).
3. Senior Secondary or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks and have passed or are in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education).
4. Graduation with at least 50% marks and a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) degree.
Upper Primary Level (Class VI to VIII)
To qualify for the secondary level CTET examination, candidates must meet one of the following qualifications:
1. Senior Secondary or its equivalent with at least 50% marks and have passed or are in the final year of a 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (D.EI.Ed).
2. Graduation with at least 50% marks and have passed or are in the final year of a 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed).
3. Senior Secondary or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks and have passed or are in the final year of a 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (D.EI.Ed).
4. Senior Secondary or its equivalent with at least 50% marks and have passed or are in the final year of a 4-year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed.
5. Graduation with at least 50% marks and have passed or are in the final year of a 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education).
Candidates who have completed a recognized B.Ed. Program by the NCTE are also eligible to take the TET/CTET. Additionally, according to the TET guidelines in the NCTE letter dated 11-02-2011, individuals pursuing teacher education courses specified in the NCTE Notification dated 23rd August 2010 are also qualified to appear for the TET/CTET.

3. A new official web portal will open in a new tab on your web browser.
4. On this portal, you will find the option to register yourself.

7. Proceed to make the payment for the examination fee.
8. After a successful payment, your application will be submitted.
9. You will also receive an acknowledgment copy of your submission.
